The Month of Capricorn, 2008-2009

E-mail Print PDF

As with all Cardinal Leadership Signs, we know that we are initiating into a new season. Capricorn leads us into Winter through it's request to be patient, responsible and know there is hard work to be done. With its' ruling planet Saturn, those influenced by the Goat are on a constant quest in life for duty, achievement and wisdom.

The typical Capricorn native displays a fatherly, cautious, dependable, and persevering nature. Always looking to the long term, ambition comes easily to the Goat who can work like no other sign. When Capricorn becomes too obsessed with perfection in any way- they can fall to becoming materialistic, scrupulous, suspicious, snobbish, uninspired. One way a Capricorn can keep in check is always to be in full awareness of the spirit and intention behind their many goals- which brings understanding that it is not the material gain that bring joy, but the experience itself.

The Zodiac House that Capricorns' energy rules in the birth chart is the 10th of Career/Work. This is the area of life in our chart that denotes the force that dictates where we can find success in the work place. The sign positioned here also will point to the energy that is behind how we best fit into a rewarding career. Looking to how the Zodiac Wheel may spin in any individual birth chart, the House Capricorn falls is the area of life where they will see a perfectionist and dutiful nature behind all they do. Any planets that may be placed in Capricorn at the time of birth also take on their innate expression through the qualities of this established, organized and hard-working sign.

Capricorn takes on the element of earth and expresses itself with direction upon the Zodiac Wheel. The holiday season reaches the peak of its' materialism within our traditional celebrations that lead up to the perfection of ringing in another Universal New Year. With karmic Saturn as Capricorns' ruler, this month urges time spent in learning from experience, acquiring patience, being responsible, and getting to work! Capricorns' energy grants the collective to innately know how to consciously aim for integrity while adhering to a strong sense of reverence to their agendas.

Driving and energetic Mars moves into Capricorn right after Christmas. We will now be asked to focus upon humility, consideration and warmth. Beware of dissatisfaction, irritability and lack of imagination over this 6-week passage. The Capricorn piece of your Zodiac pie points to what area of life to ultimately expect an air of persistent, ambitious and efficient energies to emerge.

As we join together in saying adios to 2008, Saturn will enter his 5 and 1/2 month Retrograde period, his 2nd while visiting Virgo. Our collective will witness an intense time that will further discriminate against those abusing power and test our self-confidence to dig deep to find faith within. Virgos' energy gravitates to being of service and how one works for an employer- as Saturn transits here it is no coincidence the frustrating issue of unemployment is more prevalent than it has been in decades.  Remember the Virgo house in your birth chart indicates where to can look on a personal level to see the area of life where adjustment to routine can continue to be anticipated.

Mercury enters eccentric Aquarius upon the Universal New Year for a brief stay in Direct motion until the 11th when it joins Saturn in Retrograde. Our Messenger will travel with the Water Bearer until the 21st when it reenters Capricorn. Till then we can expect communications to be original, accurate and agreeable; once journeying with the Goat mentalities shift to methodical, dry and conventional expressions. Checking where the houses of Aquarius/Capricorn affect you will be the slices of life that you can look to apply those typical Mercury Retrograde rules until February 1st.

On an uplifting note, Jupiter enters Aquarius upon January 1st for it's year passage through the sign that loves to bring things to a new life. Fortunate and jovial Jupiter ensures that the collective now will see a renewed enthusiasm in humanitarian causes and reform. Those with Jupiter in Aquarius and Aquarian natives will experience an optimistic and sociable year. Once again, your Aquarian piece of your Zodiac Pie points to where you can expect to see expansion and goodwill unfold throughout 2009.

May wisdom be the underlying guidance that blesses you and yours in all of your conscious choices. Remember when you KNOW, NOW you have WON.

  • How Advertisers and Agencies Can Reach Consumers Where They Live
It's no secret that consumers are harder to reach than ever before. Increased choices within traditional advertising channels (satellite TV, digital cable, satellite radio, an abundance of newspaper and magazine titles) have broken large audiences down into smaller and smaller fragments. Combine...
  • Ideas From Ancient Greece
In this article I want to look at two philosophers of the past, they are Heraclitus and Parmenides. They both lived a long long time ago, and their writings are for the most part lost, so that all we know about them is from what other philosophers wrote about them. They both lived in ancient...

Hurricane Celia
NASA Image Of The Day
Perfectly circular, powerful Hurricane Celia spaned hundreds of miles over the Pacific Ocean in this image from June 24, 2010. Rough-textured clouds surround the storm?s distinct eye. Farther from the center of the storm, spiral arms appear thinner and smoother. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer, or MODIS, on NASA?s Aqua satellite captured this true-color image of Hurricane Celia at 1:55 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on June 24, 2010. Just five minutes later, the U.S. National Hurricane Center classified Celia as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 135 miles per hour. Image Credit: NASA...
