What Matters in a Good Logo Design?

E-mail Print PDF

A logo is considered a product's or service's identity. Whatever a company wants to sell in a market, whether it is a product or service, it has to go with a unique, attractive, and pleasant identity. Good and eye catching logos help companies to stand up in a clutter of logos or different products/services.

There are several ingredients require to put a logo into the lane of good logos. A good logo must be a combination of a good colors, design, and aesthetics.

Purpose

A logo designer should know the purpose of a logo, type/detail of the business, the audience to be catered, and the platform where it will be used. A logo which will be used only on the internet can be shadowing, texturing, and gradients. On the other hand, it would be pretty costly if implemented on the product or print material. It is highly recommended that only go for those logos which can go on any medium.

Color

Avoid using many colors in a logo. It would be costlier if you want to publish them in the print media - brochures, business cards, magazines, etc. Three to four colors are generally adequate to make a good logo.

Moreover, a good logo would not lose its attraction in any color - if a logo does not look good in black and white colors then it is likely that it would not look good in any other colors.

Design

A logo should be designed in a way that it would be adjusted on both types of mediums - print and electronic. The design of a logo should be attractive and comprehensible. Further, every logo should be capable of handling all sizes; for example, a 2 x 2 inch logo should not lose its attraction if it will be placed on a billboard of 40 x 30 feet.

To conclude, it can be stated that a good logo must be designed after considering several important factors such as, purpose, audience, and medium. It is essential to provide complete details to your logo designer to get the best and desired results.

A Chameleon Sky
NASA Image Of The Day
The sands of time are running out for the central star of this the Hourglass Nebula. With its nuclear fuel exhausted, this brief, spectacular, closing phase of a sun-like star's life occurs as its outer layers are ejected and its core becomes a cooling, fading white dwarf. In 1995, astronomers used the Hubble Space Telescope to make a series of images of planetary nebulae, including the one above. Here, delicate rings of colorful glowing gas (nitrogen-red, hydrogen-green, and oxygen-blue) outline the tenuous walls of the 'hourglass.' The unprecedented sharpness of Hubble's images revealed surprising details of the nebula ejection process and may resolve the outstanding mystery of the variety of complex shapes and symmetries of planetary nebulae.
