We hear a lot about change and how it's up to us to make a difference and the repeating theme; "Ask not what you can do for your government, but what your government can do for you." But, it's rather silly really, as how many of you have ever actually tried to assist your government? Why not try to give your ideas, concepts or innovations to your government? Just try?
Do you know what happens, they make it so tough, so many hoops to jump through, so many procedures and so much paper work that it is nearly impossible. You practically have to take out a loan or something. Hey, don't laugh. If you go to a military or government website and try to give them information, there is usually only one place to contact them.
The "Doing business with us" button and if you click on that button on a government website, it directs folks to the SBA office to get a loan to start a business and become a defense contractor, that's ludicrous. Why would anyone go into hock, borrow money to sell something to the military in such an insider's game. And why start a business, hire a bunch of folks to handle all the paper work if you are a thinker/entrepreneur type who hates bureaucracy and paperwork?
That's really not much different than going out to hire a bunch of lawyers and accountants. Until the military has a better handle on how to take in ideas, they will always be innovating at about the same rate as the Chinese and Russians are stealing our innovations. We need a system of incubators, a strategy that is well funded.
Why not use some old closed airbase from BRAC and in the old aircraft hangers set up shop. A place where extremely smart real-American entrepreneurs can build stuff, cross-collaborate, cross-pollinate and WIN. You know, I only care about winning, all this other non-sense is just a waste of talk and time, if the government shuts itself in from the citizens and the innovators in our nation, it loses the best minds and economies of scale of 303 million minds.
So, I guess those are my thoughts on the wasting of one of our greatest assets in America. Only bureaucracy of such epic proportions could ruin such an awesome advantage of a free-society, Amazing! Why not think on this. Don't believe me, well, just try to give information to the US Government and see where it gets you and if you are actually able to get through to anyone. Think on this.
